The Spanish government is preparing an extraordinary regularization of undocumented immigrants that would end their current unfair temporary administrative status and offer legal residence and work to hundreds of thousands of people already living in Spain.

The process will be carried out through a special and temporary procedure that will regularize those who meet the requirements

Who could benefit?

Those who are eligible for regularization are:

- People that have lived continuously in Spain before December 31, 2025 (at least for a few months, usually 5 months), which must be proven by registration or alternatively by invoices, receipts, medical history, etc.

- People that do not have a criminal record in Spain or abroad.

- This includes minor children living in Spain.

What permission is granted?

Initially, a one-year residence and work permit is granted. During this year, the beneficiary can legally work in any sector and location in Spain. Afterward, they can apply for a standard residence permit based on work or family ties. Minors would be granted residence for up to five years.
